Emily Long LISW, MSW

Education and Experience

I graduated with my Bachelors of Social Work in 2017 from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. I then graduated with my Masters of Social Work in 2018 from The Ohio State University. I worked for three years in community mental health before I became a Licensed Independent Social Worker in 2021. During my time in community mental health I worked with individuals that struggle with addiction, inmates at the local jail, as well as individuals with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder and Schizophrenia.

Therapeutic Approach

I enjoy working with a vast array of clients. However, my specialties include working with childhood trauma, Agoraphobia, Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, anger, self esteem problems and Major Depressive Disorder. In order to work with these conditions I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I use these therapeutic approaches to help you to learn alternative ways of thinking about the problems in your life, come up with innovative solutions, and work through the history of the problem and the effect it has had on your life.
